**Staff Site Reliability Engineer - Release Engineering** **About the Role** Lead reliability practices across Plaid's product engineering. You'll architect SLO and error-budget programs, drive progressive delivery adoption, and ensure new products are production-ready. This is a hands-on technical leadership role shaping deployment systems for safety and speed. **Key Responsibilities** • Expand reliability standards across product engineering • Architect and manage SLO and error-budget frameworks • Promote progressive delivery and automated safety gates • Guide product teams toward production readiness • Collaborate with Platform and Infrastructure teams on self-service tooling • Direct critical incident response and post-mortem improvements • Scale safety systems for AI-driven development velocity **Required Qualifications** • 8+ years in backend systems, SRE, or platform engineering • Proven track record designing reliability programs with cross-team adoption • Direct experience with canary rollouts, metric-gated analysis, or automated rollback • Software development proficiency (Go or similar systems languages preferred) • Ability to drive organizational change and influence culture • Sound judgment in high-stakes production scenarios **Preferred Experience** • Kubernetes, service mesh technologies, Prometheus, or ArgoCD **About Plaid** Plaid powers financial connectivity for millions.
