**Software Engineer, Full Stack (Document Canvas)** **About Benchling** Benchling is the AI platform for biotech R&D, trusted by over 200,000 scientists worldwide including Sanofi, Moderna, and more than half of the world's top 50 biopharma companies. We're rebuilding biotech for the AI era by compressing decades of R&D work into years. **The Role** Join the Document Canvas team—one of three teams owning Benchling's widely-used Notebook product. You'll build intuitive interfaces, develop robust backend services, and help scale our digital lab notebook platform for scientists globally. **Key Responsibilities** • Own large-scale projects end-to-end, from ideation through user rollout • Engineer across the full stack: backend models & APIs to rich frontend components • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and cross-functional partners • Build net-new products and take existing products to feature completeness • Mentor engineers and lead technical & architectural discussions • Shape the team's technical vision and roadmap **Requirements** • 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience • Product-first mindset with focus on real-world impact • Experience with both user-facing and backend web development • Proficiency in React or similar JavaScript-based frontend frameworks • Track record leading large, sophisticated initiatives with strong ownership • Interest in learning about life sciences (prior knowledge not required) **Work Arrangement** Hybrid: 3 days/week on-site (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) **Equal Opportunity** Benchling welcomes diverse backgrounds and experiences.
