**Senior Software Engineer, Stablecoins** **About the Role** Join Coinbase's Stablecoin team to build and scale Coinbase Custom Stablecoins (CCS) — a platform enabling partners to launch branded, USDC-backed stablecoins. This role bridges backend engineering and smart contract development, owning services and onchain contracts for issuance, reserves, minting/burning, and rewards distribution. **What You'll Do** • Own and evolve smart contracts that mint, burn, and safeguard custom stablecoin supply • Build and scale backend services for onboarding, issuance, reserve accounting, and rewards • Partner with product, design, and tech leads to ship features quarterly • Drive architectural decisions balancing security, scalability, and delivery speed • Write high-quality, tested code and raise operational excellence standards **Required Experience** • 5+ years in software engineering with production backend service design and operation • Smart contract experience (Solidity/EVM) in production with real economic value at stake • End-to-end service ownership and service-oriented architecture at scale • Knowledge of onchain security: audits, upgradeability, access control, key management • Golang familiarity and Ethereum/onchain fundamentals (DeFi/stablecoin experience preferred) • Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight for business-ready outputs **Compensation** $186,065 – $218,900 USD base salary (excludes equity and bonus) **About Coinbase** Remote-first company with quarterly in-person "surge" sessions.
