Our AI-native platform delivers personalized support across self-guided tools, coaching, therapy, medication management, and specialty care. **The Role** Reporting to the Engineering Manager - Search & Matching, you'll enhance and optimize the search and matching experience within Spring Health's Alma product. You'll help clients find the right provider and begin their care journey as quickly and seamlessly as possible. **Location** 🏢 Hybrid - San Francisco (2-3 days/week at 44 Montgomery Street) Candidates must be based in the SF metro area or able to relocate within 90 days. **What You'll Do** • Design and build scalable, high-quality software across complex problem areas • Lead technical design sessions and provide feedback in architectural reviews • Integrate AI into team workflows while maintaining rigorous quality standards • Decompose complex engineering problems into well-scoped solutions • Coordinate cross-group efforts and drive projects end-to-end • Model engineering excellence through code reviews and mentorship • Design scalable search and matching capabilities for Alma • Architect backend services and APIs powering client search experiences **What You'll Bring** • 6-8+ years of professional software development experience • Expertise in Python and Django for backend services; strong React proficiency • Proven experience designing and scaling complex full-stack systems • Track record leading delivery of complex, multi-team technical projects • Strong cross-functional collaboration and mentorship skills • Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and data modeling • Experience designing and optimizing search infrastructure at scale **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 Base Salary: $207,000 - $233,000 (plus stock options) ✨ Benefits include: • Health, Dental, Vision (One Medical access) • 401(k) match up to 2% • Therapy/coaching/medication management access • Competitive PTO + 16-18 weeks parental leave • Professional development reimbursement ($1K/year) • Wellness programs (Noom, Wellhub, fertility support via Carrot) • Childcare support via BrightHorizons • $200/year donation matching
