**Staff Analytics Engineer, Compliance Data** **About the Role** Lead the data foundations for the Compliance Data team within the Platform organization. Own the Compliance Reporting Data Platform—Coinbase's canonical source of truth for user, transaction, and compliance data. Define technical direction for how compliance data is modeled, validated, and certified at scale. **What You'll Do** • Own systems, architecture, technical strategy, and roadmap for Compliance Data, including data models, pipelines, quality frameworks, and certification processes • Build production-grade solutions covering user, transaction, and compliance data across retail and institutional product lines • Drive data quality at the source through data contracts, validation frameworks, monitoring, and reconciliation logic • Partner with upstream engineering teams, Compliance leadership, and downstream consumers to close data gaps • Lead team response to regulatory exams, audits, and time-sensitive data requests • Shape engineering standards and technical culture through architectural decisions, code reviews, and mentorship **Required Experience** • 8+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data-intensive technical roles with demonstrated technical leadership • Expert-level SQL and Python proficiency for production pipelines, transformations, and orchestration (dbt, Airflow, or equivalent) • Track record designing canonical/certified data models serving multiple teams; fluency in dimensional modeling and modern warehouse architecture (Snowflake, Databricks) • Proven ability to deliver accurate data under regulatory pressure with material consequences • History of driving technical direction and influencing engineering practices beyond immediate team • Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight **Compensation** $207,485 – $244,100 USD (base salary, excluding equity and bonus) **Work Environment** Remote-first with quarterly in-person "surge" sessions
