**Forward Deployed Engineer, Finance [Office of the CTO]** **About the Role** Embed as a founding engineer within Coinbase's Finance organization, sitting directly in the Office of the CTO. You'll identify high-value workflow opportunities, rapidly prototype AI-powered solutions, and drive adoption across the FP&A & Treasury org. Act as the connective tissue between Finance stakeholders and engineering teams maintaining Coinbase's AI platform. **What You'll Do** • Embed with FP&A and Treasury leadership to surface automation opportunities with greatest business leverage • Prototype quickly using Coinbase's existing AI platform before recommending new builds • Own the Finance automation roadmap in partnership with VP of FP&A & Treasury • Define build-vs-buy strategy for Finance tooling • Ensure automated financial outputs are traceable, reviewable, and auditor-defensible with SOX compliance and human-in-the-loop controls • Drive adoption through brown-bags, walkthroughs, and feedback loops **Required Experience** • 5+ years software engineering shipping production systems in ambiguous, stakeholder-heavy environments • Hands-on LLM deployment experience: prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, hallucination guardrails, human-in-the-loop design • Proven ability to embed with domain experts and translate complex workflows into engineering requirements • Familiarity with financial systems: ERP data flows (NetSuite, Workday, Anaplan), reconciliation logic, trial balances, SOX environments • Multi-agent orchestration concepts experience • Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or embedded technical advisory background (fintech/finance-tech preferred) • Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight **Compensation** $218,025 – $256,500 USD base salary (excludes equity and bonus) **About Coinbase** Remote-first company on a mission to increase economic freedom.
