**Principal Software Engineer, Breeze** **Position ID:** POS-33518 **About the Team** Breeze Assistant is HubSpot's AI-powered gateway to value—the conversational front door through which every HubSpot customer starts their work, gets outcomes, and grows with the product. We're shipping a full agentic platform that every HubSpot team builds on, with the mission to make Breeze the fastest, best way to achieve sales and marketing outcomes. **About the Role** We're seeking a Principal Software Engineer to be the technical anchor for the Breeze Assistant platform. You'll shape how Breeze evolves from a highly capable assistant to a trusted, proactive agent that delivers durable artifacts, dynamically generates UIs, orchestrates multi-step workflows, and learns from every interaction. **Key Expectations** • **Agentic Platform Architecture** — Define patterns for how AI agents safely interact with HubSpot's CRM, agentic primitives, and third-party ecosystems • **Breakthrough Surfaces** — Extend the platform so every HubSpot team builds their highest-value deliverables into Breeze • **Complete Customer Context** — Build technical bridges that let context evolve into a dynamic, active collaborator • **Rapid GenAI Experimentation** — Stay current with LLMs, RAG, and agentic frameworks to prototype and validate new capabilities • **Hands-on Contributor** — Ship production code and lead high-impact initiatives from prototype to production • **System Reliability & Trust** — Drive strategy around LLM evaluation, observability, guardrails, and data privacy • **Cross-Functional Leadership** — Partner with Product, AI Research, and engineering teams to expand platform coverage • **Technical Mentorship** — Elevate AI fluency across the engineering organization **What You Bring** • Proven expertise building and scaling high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems • Deep experience with LLM orchestration, vector databases, RAG pipelines, and multi-agent frameworks • Background in building autonomous or semi-autonomous systems with complex state management • Platform thinking—designing primitives that internal teams and partners can compose • User-first mindset with track record of building products people love • Bias for action: prefer working prototypes over lengthy design docs • Rapid domain fluency in the fast-moving AI landscape **Why This Role, Why Now** Breeze is at an inflection point. You'll have direct line of sight from the architecture you design to customer outcomes we measure. **Compensation & Benefits** **Annual Cash Compensation Range:** $266,200 – $425,900 USD Compensation includes base salary, on-target commission for eligible roles, and annual bonus targets. Eligible roles may participate in HubSpot's equity plan for restricted stock units (RSUs).
