**Staff Software Engineer, EAA CX** **About the Role** Join Coinbase's Enterprise Applications and Architecture (EAA) group as a Staff Software Engineer for the Customer Experience (EAA-CX) sub-organization. You'll operate as a technical anchor across 8 globally distributed engineering squads, driving AI maturity, developer experience, and platform excellence for secure, Tier-1 systems serving ~7,000 specialists. **What You'll Do** • Own the EAA-CX AI maturity and developer-experience roadmap, embedding with squads to surface opportunities and drive adoption • Lead platform excellence workstreams improving reliability, observability, and operational readiness for Tier-1 systems • Define build-versus-buy strategy for developer-experience and AI tooling across EAA-CX • Provide Staff-level architectural coverage across squads facing complex challenges • Build highly reliable, secure distributed backend services with full SLO ownership and incident response **Required Experience** • 8+ years of software engineering with proven track record architecting large-scale distributed systems • Deep proficiency in backend service design, API development (gRPC, MCP, GraphQL), and microservices architectures • Strong cloud-native infrastructure experience (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, Kafka, databases) • Track record building secure, compliant internal tools in regulated environments • Experience with agentic AI systems (MCP servers, LLM orchestration, RAG pipelines, HITL workflows) • Proficiency in Go with willingness to work across Python **Compensation** 💰 $218,025 – $256,500 USD base salary (excludes equity and bonus) **Job ID:** P67493
