**Senior Software Engineer, Blockchain Platform Nodes** **About the Role** Join the CB Node team within the Platform organization. This team runs all blockchain nodes powering every asset Coinbase offers to customers, spanning 55+ unique protocols across Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, and beyond. **What You'll Do** • Own deep performance analysis and optimization across the blockchain node stack, diagnosing root causes and implementing system-level fixes • Build observability, health-check, and automated failover capabilities for blockchain nodes • Drive right-sizing initiatives across the node fleet, profiling workloads and establishing capacity models • Partner with protocol integration engineers, wallet teams, and indexer teams on performance improvements • Lead definition and implementation of SLOs and SLIs for node services • Support protocol upgrades with a performance-first lens **Required Experience** • 5+ years in software engineering with deep expertise in systems-level performance analysis and optimization • Hands-on experience operating distributed systems at scale • Proficiency in backend programming (Go preferred) and systems tooling (pprof, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) • Track record of reducing infrastructure costs through engineering optimization • Experience with blockchain nodes, consensus protocols, or crypto infrastructure strongly preferred • Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight **Compensation & Details** 💰 Base Salary: $186,065 – $218,900 USD (varies by location) Equity and bonus eligibility available.
