**2027 Summer Intern, BS, SysEng Software Engineer** **About Waymo** Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips and has autonomously driven over 100 million miles on public roads. **The Role** Waymo's Systems Engineering team is looking for talented interns to help design and validate groundbreaking autonomous driving systems. You'll partner with industry leaders on impactful projects while expanding your skill set. **You Will:** • Design, implement, and test software infrastructure, test runners, and tooling (C++ and Python) for HIL benches and simulation platforms • Collaborate with Systems and Test Engineers to understand requirements and pain points in test automation • Build automated pipelines and data workflows for failure triaging and regression testing • Author technical design documents and lead demos to onboard engineers **You Have:** • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics, or related field • Proficiency in C++ • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design • Familiarity with software testing fundamentals (unit, integration, regression testing) **We Prefer:** • Python proficiency • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) platforms or embedded systems • Test automation frameworks, developer tooling, or CI/CD pipeline experience • Knowledge of Protocol Buffers, declarative configuration, or RPC systems • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills **Details** 💰 $60/hour (Bachelor's level) 📍 Hybrid onsite position ⏰ Rolling applications until filled *Apply to top 3 roles of interest individually for consideration.*
