**Site Reliability Engineer (Manufacturing Infrastructure)** **About the Role** SpaceX's application software team is the central nervous system of the company. This SRE position owns infrastructure supporting Starship, Starlink, Starshield, and Terafab manufacturing operations. You'll have direct impact on factory uptime, throughput, and production scale. **Key Responsibilities** • Deploy, upgrade, operate, maintain, and scale compute, storage, and networking for manufacturing systems • Manage infrastructure as code and use observability for complete platform health visibility • Design for reliability, stability, and scale; identify and remove bottlenecks • Practice proactive maintenance: capacity planning, lifecycle management, and toil reduction • Partner with software engineers and manufacturing teams to build operable systems • Improve full lifecycle from design through deployment and continuous refinement • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems • Provide high-quality support to manufacturing users • Participate in on-call and travel to sites as needed **Basic Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering; OR 3+ years professional SRE/DevOps experience • 1+ years software development experience • Experience with Linux operating systems **Preferred Skills** • Production infrastructure experience (compute, storage, networking) • Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc.) • Containers and virtualization (Docker, Kubernetes, vSphere, QEMU, KVM) • Databases and data modeling (Postgres, Clickhouse, etc.) • Mission-critical systems experience • Strong communication skills **Requirements** • Must work extended hours and weekends as needed • Must travel to multiple sites (Hawthorne CA, Redmond WA, Cape Canaveral FL, Starbase TX) • Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral • **Onsite required** — Remote/hybrid not considered • ITAR eligible: U.S. citizen, national, green card holder, refugee, or asylee status *Aerospace experience not required.
