**Software Engineering Supervisor Lead** **About the Role** Peraton is seeking a Software Engineering Supervisor Lead to oversee and mentor a team of software engineers supporting NASA's White Sands Complex. You'll provide technical leadership, departmental coordination, and lifecycle oversight for mission-critical communication systems. **Key Responsibilities** • Coordinate work efforts with the Software Engineering Manager and serve as acting manager when needed • Collaborate with Project Managers, Systems Engineers, and stakeholders on system design and development • Track project schedules and provide weekly status reports to customers • Champion Agile best practices to improve team velocity and transparency • Guide engineers through the full software development lifecycle • Drive modernization of legacy software systems and modern architecture transitions • Mentor engineers on Agile thinking, iterative delivery, and clean-code practices • Lead personnel performance evaluations and provide day-to-day leadership • Provide first-level customer support **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related technical field • 6+ years of professional experience • 5+ years of software development, lifecycle, and quality assurance experience • Practical experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) • Hands-on experience modernizing or refactoring legacy systems • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret security clearance • US Citizen with proof of citizenship • Ability to access government worksite **Preferred Qualifications** • Prior supervisory experience • Linux or Windows systems experience • Object-oriented programming (C++, Java) • SQL database experience • Software design principles knowledge • Legacy architecture migration experience • Strong teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills **Salary Range** $86,000 - $138,000 (based on experience, education, and location) **About Peraton** Peraton is a next-generation national security company delivering trusted solutions to protect our nation and allies across all domains. *Equal Opportunity Employer*
