**Spacecraft Operations Engineer II/Senior I** **About Rocket Lab** Rocket Lab is the end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems that keep the world connected, protected, and expand humanity's reach to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. **The Role** Based in Littleton, CO, you'll manage the health, safety, and performance of a growing fleet of satellites across diverse mission types including constellations, interplanetary exploration, and orbital rendezvous. You'll support all mission phases from commissioning through re-entry, collaborating with cross-functional teams on spacecraft design, software, propulsion, and ground systems. **What You'll Do** • Leverage automation and software-driven solutions for efficient spacecraft operations • Design, develop, and test ground software and flight software sequences • Manage FDIR/telemetry configuration for spacecraft health and fault management • Maintain continuous integration and testing of operational code • Support on-call operations and shifts • Develop test methods, data analysis, and interface specifications • Run validation against spacecraft simulation tools (flatsat, HITL, etc.) • Support AIT teams across multiple spacecraft integrated tests • Perform requirements validation and verification • Provide technical support across Auckland, Littleton, and Long Beach engineering teams **Engineer II Requirements** • Bachelor's in engineering (software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or related) • 2+ years in space mission design, satellite subsystems, ground systems, spacecraft command/control, or operations • Understanding of spacecraft subsystems (ADCS, EPS, communications, C&DH, thermal control) • Knowledge of space environment, orbital mechanics, and rigid body dynamics • Software development experience (Python/Ruby/C/C++/other languages) • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain/maintain US security clearance **Senior Engineer I Requirements** • Bachelor's in engineering (software, computer, electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or related) • 5+ years in space mission design, satellite subsystems, ground systems, spacecraft command/control, or operations • Understanding of spacecraft subsystems (ADCS, EPS, communications, C&DH, thermal control) • Knowledge of space environment, orbital mechanics, and rigid body dynamics • Software development experience (Python/Ruby/C/C++/other languages) • U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain/maintain US security clearance **Nice to Have** • Master's or PhD in engineering • Prior spacecraft operations or satellite system design experience • Satellite ground systems experience • Modern development practices (GIT, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure) • SIL/HIL testing experience • TS/SCI Clearance **Compensation & Benefits** Base Salary Range (CO): $81,600 – $137,500 USD Compensation includes company stock, cash incentives, ESPP, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), paid vacation/holidays/sick leave, paid parental leave, and additional perks. **ITAR Requirement** U.S. citizenship or equivalent authorization required to comply with ITAR regulations.
