**Manager I, Engineering - Cloud FinOps** **About the Role:** Lead Datadog's Cloud FinOps team, which answers a critical business question: what does each product and customer actually cost us to serve? You'll own delivery across the runtime pipeline, coverage onboarding, and cost-to-customer identity mapping. The core engineering problem is reproducibility—every dollar of cloud cost is placed against the product and customer that caused it. **What You'll Do:** • Lead and grow a team of engineers building the platform that allocates Datadog's cloud cost to products and customers • Own the publication contract with Finance: versioned metrics with effective dates, backfill, and reproducible history • Own metric contracts with platform teams across Engineering, shifting cost facts to teams that generate the cost • Partner with Revenue Engineering on the cost-to-revenue identity join for margin analysis • Drive continuous improvement in product and customer cost coverage and accuracy • Reduce key-person risk by spreading ownership across the team and leveraging AI tooling **Who You Are:** • Engineering leader with experience managing data platform or data engineering teams • Shipped versioned publication with effective dates, backfill, and reproducible history • Held delivery commitments with teams outside your reporting line • Domain experience in metering, usage-based billing, cloud cost, revenue data, or financial data platforms • Operate without a product manager—you set contracts, negotiate boundaries, and drive the roadmap • Experience with audited/closed systems (SOX scope, month-end close, revenue recognition) is valuable **Compensation & Benefits:** 💰 $200,000–$250,000 USD (salary + equity + variable compensation) 🏥 Healthcare, dental, parental planning, mental health benefits 📈 Stock equity (RSUs), ESPP, 401(k) with match 🎓 Professional development, mentorship, career pathing 🌍 Hybrid workplace **About Datadog:** Leading observability and security platform for the AI era.
