You'll build the infrastructure used to provision, review, and audit access across the company—from evolving the in-house platform to setting guardrails for AI-driven workflows. **What You'll Do** • Own the technical architecture of Verkada's internal access management platform • Design and operate highly available backend infrastructure for access provisioning and review • Extend and harden integrations with identity providers (e.g., Okta) • Build automation for access review and approval workflows with AI-assisted risk scoring • Create developer-friendly tools (including chat-based interfaces) for access requests and auditing • Ensure access controls meet compliance requirements **What You'll Need** • BS in Computer Science or equivalent • 5+ years of backend or security platform engineering experience • Demonstrated experience designing access management platforms or identity infrastructure • Strong understanding of identity primitives, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM • Experience with role-based, policy-based, or attribute-based access control models • Experience automating operational workflows, ideally with AI/LLM tooling • Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform) • Excellent communication skills **Bonus Points** • Okta administration and API experience at scale • Slack-based or chat-ops tooling experience • Experience in regulated/compliance-heavy environments (FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO 27001) **Compensation & Benefits** $200,000–$300,000 USD annually Comprehensive benefits include 100% employee healthcare premiums, medical/vision/dental, HSA/FSA, mental health support, parental leave, flexible PTO, professional development stipend, wellness benefits, daily lunches, and commuter benefits. **Additional Info** Verkada sponsors employment visas for this role.
