**IT Network Engineer II - Launch** **About Rocket Lab** Rocket Lab is the end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems that keep the world connected, protected, and expand humanity's reach to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. **The Role** Located onsite at our Wallops, VA East Coast Launch Facility, you'll deliver day-to-day IT support and advanced technical expertise to Rocket Lab engineers while contributing to infrastructure implementations and projects across the organization. **What You'll Do** • Resolve complex technical issues across network infrastructure, systems, and integrations • Deliver subject matter expertise and technical guidance for optimal performance and availability • Drive upgrade and maintenance initiatives with focus on continuous improvement, reliability, and security • Implement IT infrastructure standards for deployment and management across Space Systems environments • Participate in on-call rotation supporting 24/7/365 Launch Mission Operations • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and optimize infrastructure solutions • Ensure compliance with Rocket Lab policies and cybersecurity standards **Required Qualifications** • 2+ years in a network-focused technology role + bachelor's degree (or 6+ years equivalent experience) • Hands-on experience with networking hardware deployment (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) • Understanding of networking concepts: security, architecture design, troubleshooting tools • In-depth knowledge of: Fortinet Firewalls, Juniper/Cisco Switches, Enterprise Network architecture, Multicasting/VLAN overlays, Network Monitoring tools, or Linux/Windows system administration • US citizenship required (ITAR compliance) **Nice to Have** • Specialist certifications: Linux, CCNA, AWS, Microsoft, Azure • Experience with mass device deployment or Infrastructure as Code • Puppet, Ansible, or other automation frameworks • Python, Shell, Bash, or other programming languages • Prometheus, Grafana, InfluxDB experience **Compensation & Benefits** Base Salary Range (VA): $75,200 – $94,000 USD Includes: company stock, ESPP, medical/dental/vision, 401(k), paid time off, parental leave, and more. **Physical Requirements** May require prolonged sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
