**Technical Services Director, Global Data Center & Lab Infrastructure** **About Graphcore** Graphcore is a global leader in artificial intelligence computing systems, designing advanced semiconductors and data center hardware. As part of SoftBank Group, we're developing transformative technologies with an AI Engineering Campus in Austin. **The Opportunity** Lead teams operating and evolving Graphcore's engineering labs, HPC platforms, and data center environments globally. You'll ensure reliable, secure, cost-effective infrastructure supporting demanding engineering, AI, and silicon-development workloads. This role combines people leadership, infrastructure strategy, operational excellence, and program delivery. Based onsite in Austin with international travel required. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead, recruit, and develop systems administration and lab operations teams • Own reliability, efficiency, protection, and continuous improvement of engineering labs and HPC systems • Establish service levels, operating standards, and performance measures • Translate engineering requirements into infrastructure roadmaps and capacity plans • Forecast compute, storage, network, power, and cooling requirements • Lead global infrastructure programs from requirements through deployment and decommissioning • Own procurement, supplier performance, and commercial negotiations • Develop operating budgets, capital plans, and investment proposals • Build strategic relationships with vendors and service suppliers • Ensure HPC environments support large-scale engineering and validation workloads • Maintain security, safety, and compliance controls (ISO 27001, SOC/SSAE, PCI DSS) • Provide executive reporting on infrastructure health, capacity, and risks **Required Qualifications** • Significant leadership experience in global technical infrastructure, HPC, or data center services • Proven success leading geographically distributed technical teams • Deep knowledge of HPC/data center environments, Linux systems, accelerators, and cluster management • Experience supporting semiconductor development or complex engineering environments • Track record of developing multi-site infrastructure strategy and capacity plans • Experience with business-critical compute infrastructure and availability requirements • Strong procurement and commercial experience • Budget development and lifecycle planning expertise • Knowledge of rack integration, power, cooling, and compliance frameworks • Strong strategic, analytical, and communication skills • Willingness to work onsite in Austin and travel internationally • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, IT, or equivalent experience **Preferred Qualifications** • Large-scale HPC cluster or supercomputing platform experience • GPU-accelerated computing and AI infrastructure knowledge • Cluster schedulers, high-performance storage, and automation technologies • Global lab strategy or multi-country data center operations experience • Colocation facility and third-party data center management • Data center power, cooling, and capacity engineering knowledge • ITIL or project-management certification • Infrastructure design tools (Visio, Bluebeam, AutoCAD) **U.S. Benefits** Competitive compensation including medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with matching, flexible PTO, parental leave, learning support, and office amenities. **Equal Opportunity** Graphcore is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive hirin
