Recognized as the #1 SMS Marketing provider by G2, we partner with 8,000+ customers across 70+ industries. **About the Role** Lead the Journeys team, which builds the product and systems enabling brands to create, publish, and run automated, event-driven customer communications across SMS, email, and push. You'll oversee engineers working on the visual journey-building experience and distributed workflow platform, balancing product delivery with operational rigor for a customer-facing messaging system. **What You'll Accomplish** • Lead the Journeys team's roadmap, delivery, and technical direction • Partner with Product, Design, implementation teams, and engineering peers • Improve reliability, observability, performance, and scale of customer-facing journey execution • Build a high-performing team through hiring, coaching, and clear growth opportunities • Establish operating rhythms, delivery plans, and stakeholder communication • Balance immediate customer needs with durable, reusable platform capabilities **Your Expertise** • 2+ years managing software engineers + 7+ years professional software engineering experience • Strong technical foundation in distributed, event-driven systems, workflow orchestration, APIs, and scalable applications • Experience guiding architecture across user-facing products and high-volume backend systems • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and deliver complex initiatives • Experience leading reliable, operationally mature services with incident response and observability • Thoughtful people leader who builds inclusive, high-accountability teams • Clear communicator who manages delivery plans and surfaces risks early **Tech Stack** Java/Spring Boot microservices • React, TypeScript, GraphQL • PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3 • Apache Pulsar, gRPC • Kubernetes on AWS EKS • Temporal, feature flags **Compensation (US-based)** $227,000 - $270,000 annually + equity + benefits **Company Values** Default to Action • Be One Unstoppable Team • Champion the Customer • Act Like an Owner
