**Staff Systems Engineer, Depot & Offhail Automation** **About Waymo** Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company with the mission to be the world's most trusted driver. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips and has autonomously driven over 100 million miles on public roads. **About the Role** Waymo's Systems Engineering team blends software and hardware systems to set high performance standards and ensure vehicle safety. This hybrid role reports to a Systems Engineering Lead. **You will:** • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement requirements, system architecture, and verification strategy for depot & offhail automation features • Develop deep technical understanding of existing and new automation features and drive robust end-to-end verification and monitoring systems • Develop qualification methods to launch new features and depots • Debug field issues to determine root cause and implement improvements to prevent future issues • Extend existing depot automation features to new vehicle platforms • Apply technical depth to new areas and learn quickly **You have:** • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related technical field • At least 8 years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or related field • Systems engineering mindset with proactive, data-driven problem-solving approach • Ability to juggle multiple projects and work in ambiguity • Ability to read C++ and query datasets (SQL) for debugging and performance monitoring **We prefer:** • Strong foundation in requirements definition, formal verification and validation methods • Experience with test development, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop testing • Experience deploying products at scale • Experience with software integration testing **Compensation** Salary Range: $230,000 – $284,000 USD Eligible for annual bonus, equity incentive plan, and company benefits.
