**Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Card Ledger & Money Movement)** **About the Role** Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly. The Money Movement & Card Ledger team is looking for a passionate Software Engineer to help build the tools and systems that manage money movement, bank data integration, and merchant data. Affirm Card marries the functionality of a debit card with access to Affirm's buy now pay later financing options. **What You'll Do** • Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation and technical decisions • Proactively identify and solve project, process, technology, and business issues • Support operations and availability through metrics, monitoring, and on-call efforts • Foster a culture of quality and ownership through code review and design standards • Develop talent on your team through feedback, guidance, and leading by example **What We Look For** • 4+ years of experience designing and launching backend systems at scale (Python, Kotlin, etc.) • Track record developing highly available distributed systems (AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes) • Experience defining technical plans for significant features with elegant, extensible designs • Proficiency making large-scale changes safely with strong testing practices • Demonstrated ownership of your growth and strong communication skills • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent practical experience **Compensation & Benefits** • Base Pay Grade: N | Equity Grade: USA 9 • USA Pacific (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $195,000 - $255,000 • USA Sapphire (all other states): $173,000 - $233,000 • 100% subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage • Flexible spending wallets for tech, food, lifestyle, and family needs • Competitive vacation and holiday schedules • Employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) **Work Environment** Remote-first company with flexibility to work almost anywhere within your country of employment. *#LI-Remote*
