**Software Engineer, Data and AI Platform** **About the Team** Data Platform's Data User Experience Engineering builds products for every DoorDash employee to answer questions with data. This includes AI-first reporting, conversational analytics, semantic layers, and full-stack infrastructure supporting Snowflake, Spark, and Clickhouse. **About the Role** Own the full path from question to answer. Build convergent BI reporting surfaces, agentic analytics features, data platforms for authoring and dashboards, and AI-enabled services for thousands of users. **Key Responsibilities** • Ship agentic analytics features with accuracy as the product • Build data platforms for authoring, dashboards, scheduling, alerting, and permissions • Stream large result sets and render interdependent tiles • Build AI experiences: agent-assisted query authoring and generated charts • Evolve semantic layers with metric/dimension modeling and governance • Own query caching and federation across query engines • Develop AI-enabled services and self-serve tooling • Build data discovery and metadata platforms **Required Qualifications** • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent • 3+ years industry software engineering experience • Strong backend fundamentals (Go, Python) • Shipped LLM-powered features to real users • Built data platform products (semantic layers, discovery, reporting, caching) • AWS and Kubernetes production experience • Experience with MCP, agent frameworks, or tool-calling architectures • Knowledge of reporting, analytics tooling, and data governance • Prompt and context optimization at scale **Compensation** I4: $130,600–$192,000 USD I5: $159,800–$235,000 USD I6: $193,800–$285,000 USD Includes equity grants, 401(k) matching, 16 weeks paid parental leave, comprehensive benefits, and flexible PTO.
