**Software Engineer II, Enterprise Applications** **About Vast** Vast is developing next-generation space stations and space infrastructure using an incremental, hardware-rich, and low-cost approach. Headquartered in Long Beach, California, with 1,000+ employees and over $1B in private capital, Vast is building the facilities to manufacture and operate America's next space station. **The Role** Full-time, exempt position in Long Beach. You'll support development of systems for designing and building artificial-gravity human-rated space stations, working under the Senior Manager of Enterprise Applications. **Responsibilities** • Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using modern frontend technologies and APIs/microservices • Contribute to backend services design and implementation (data modeling, APIs, pipelines) • Build, ship, and support features through the full software development lifecycle • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners on scalable solutions • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following established practices • Participate in code reviews and technical discussions • Identify and resolve software defects, performance issues, and production incidents **Minimum Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, engineering, or equivalent experience • 3+ years of software development or relevant industry experience • Experience designing and shipping production software applications • Full-stack development experience (frontend and/or backend) • Familiarity with testing, version control, code review, and debugging **Preferred Skills** • Experience with complex technical problems • API development/consumption experience • Relational databases and data modeling • React, Vue, GraphQL, Node.js, OAuth, Terraform, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server • Distributed systems, APIs, or microservices experience • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 **$135,000 – $192,500 USD** (California) Equity, medical/dental/vision, 20+ days PTO, paid parental leave, 401(k), ClassPass, mental health support, free meals/snacks, and more. **Export Compliance** Must be a U.S. person (citizen, national, green card holder, asylee, or refugee) per 22 C.F.R. § 120.62. **Equal Opportunity Employer**
