**Senior Security Data Engineer** **About the Team** Global Cyber Defense is a highly talented and globally distributed team covering response, intelligence, insider risk, threat hunting, automation, and detection engineering. The mission is to detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats with speed and precision while continuously hardening defenses through automation, AI, and cross-regional collaboration. **About the Role** Own multi-terabyte-per-day log ingest across AWS and GCP, including reliability, cost, and schema management. Most time goes to code, pipelines, and query performance rather than alert triage. The team spans the US and UK, collaborating regularly with IT, legal, privacy, incident response, and detection engineering. Reports to Senior Manager of Cyber Defense (US). Includes on-call rotation participation. **Key Responsibilities** • Own multi-terabyte-per-day log pipelines: ingest, routing, enrichment, schema management • Control ingest cost and volume while maintaining audit logs • Model security data and tune query performance in Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift • Ship production services and integrations (SIEM connectors, API clients, automation) • Set and defend SLOs for log availability and freshness • Own infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines • Build AI agents and automated runbooks for triage acceleration • Enforce IAM and service account governance • Lead cross-functional projects and mentor engineers **Required Experience** • 5+ years building/operating high-volume data pipelines (multi-terabyte-per-day scale) • 4+ years production software in Python, Go, Rust, or Java • Deep hands-on AWS and GCP experience with infrastructure as code • Strong SQL and data modeling in columnar warehouses • Track record owning platform reliability with on-call experience • Experience building executive dashboards and engineering metrics • Proven technical leadership across infrastructure and incident response • Exceptional communication and collaborative instincts **Bonus Skills** Enterprise SIEM experience, Kubernetes, Docker, runtime security, security telemetry sources, detections-as-code, LLM workflows, penetration testing, or bug bounty triage. **Compensation** $159,800 – $235,000 USD (base salary varies by location and experience) Equity grants, 401(k) matching, 16 weeks paid parental leave, comprehensive benefits. **About DoorDash** Mission-driven company empowering local economies through delivery and logistics.
