More than 10 million businesses build on Stripe, processing trillions of dollars annually. **What You'll Do** As an intern, you'll work on projects across Stripe's stack with direct impact on millions of businesses. You'll own problems end-to-end with manager and teammate support, working alongside creative and technically rigorous engineers. Recent intern projects include expanding Payments Foundation Model capabilities, building fraud controls, creating safer payouts, and developing user-facing solutions. **Responsibilities** • Operate as a real team member; engage in discussions, decisions, and technical design • Write production software with meaningful impact to Stripe's business and users • Give and receive technical feedback through code reviews and design discussions • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders • Learn quickly using latest AI tooling and working effectively with mentors **Who You Are** • Ambitious builder energized by solving novel problems with far-reaching consequences • Rigorous thinker who appreciates complex challenges • Adaptable problem solver who treats obstacles as opportunities **Minimum Requirements** • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, or related field • Programming experience through side projects or classwork (Ruby, Java, Javascript, Go, Scala) • Experience from internships or multi-person projects demonstrating feedback incorporation • Ability to learn unfamiliar systems independently or with mentors • Ability to leverage AI tools with critical thinking and professional judgment **Preferred Qualifications** • At least 1 year of university education or equivalent work experience • Specialized knowledge (frontend, backend, infrastructure) balanced with general skills • Experience writing high-quality pull requests with good test coverage • Familiarity navigating multiple codebases and languages • Clear written communication skills
