**Engineering Manager, Infrastructure** **About Formation Bio** Formation Bio is a tech and AI-driven pharma company focused on radically more efficient drug development. Founded in 2016, the company has built technology platforms and capabilities to accelerate drug development and clinical trials, partnering with pharma companies, research organizations, and biotechs. **About the Position** Lead the infrastructure team responsible for reliability, security, and the operational foundation of the engineering organization. You'll set technical direction, develop high-performing engineers, and create systems that enable safe, rapid shipping. This role is central to defining what an AI-native engineering organization means operationally, including systems for AI-assisted and agent-authored code. **Key Responsibilities** • Hire, coach, and develop infrastructure and SRE engineers • Set technical direction and roadmap for infrastructure and SRE • Partner with engineers and data scientists on secure, observable, reliable software deployment • Oversee infrastructure services across multiple cloud providers • Ensure high standards for IaC, container images, and CI/CD pipelines • Drive knowledge sharing and training throughout the organization • Own support rotation coverage and incident retrospectives • Manage team budgeting and resourcing **About You** • 7+ years experience in infrastructure/SRE with 3+ years managing engineers • Track record of hiring and developing strong teams • Strong operational and reliability judgment • Credible perspective on AI-native engineering and agentic SDLC • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills • Working knowledge of AWS, Snowflake, Docker, GitHub, Kubernetes, Python, Terraform • Experience with regulated/validated workloads is helpful but not required **Compensation & Location** $185,500 - $232,000 + equity and benefits Hybrid (3 days/week in office) in NYC, Boston, Research Triangle, or San Francisco Bay Area
