**Software Engineer I** **The Role** Everlaw is seeking a Software Engineer to launch your engineering career and make a real impact on our product. You'll own complex product features from idea to full release, operating with significant autonomy across our entire tech stack. Build systems end-to-end alongside a dedicated product lead and designer, focusing on deep code quality and long-term maintainability. **Position Details** Full-time, exempt position | Oakland, CA office | Hybrid (M/W/Th in-office, Tu/Fr remote) **What You'll Do** • Build new product features end-to-end, from architectural design through implementation and deployment • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Developer Operations to design and launch functionality • Maintain and improve platform reliability by debugging complex issues across large-scale codebases • Contribute to system documentation and team knowledge-sharing • Partner with a dedicated onboarding mentor to ramp up on platform architecture and development practices **About You** • BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent coursework • Proficiency in compiled languages (C++, Java, etc.) and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.) • Strong foundational knowledge of computer science concepts, algorithms, and data structures • Experience building and delivering software projects through coursework, personal projects, or internships • Strong strategic thinking and collaborative approach to solving technical problems • Authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available) **Bonus Points** • Familiarity with Linux operating systems • Hands-on experience with Git or similar version control systems • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Campus leadership experience or technical research program completion **Total Rewards** Base Salary: $140,000/year | Equity eligible **Benefits Include** • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage • Mental health support via Modern Health • Paid parental leave • 401(k) with up to 4% company match • 17 paid vacation days + 11 federal holidays + 4 Everlawlidays • Annual learning & development allocation • Home internet reimbursement + desk setup stipend • Catered lunch daily, snacks, and company events
