At Adyen, you’ll find a culture that supports ownership and career growth, where motivated teams tackle unique technical challenges at scale and deliver innovative, ethical solutions. --- ## Machine Learning Engineering Manager, Personalize Intelligence ### The Opportunity We’re looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven Engineering Manager to lead the **Personalize Intelligence** team. You will lead the team that develops and owns the machine learning behind **Adyen Checkout optimization**—our **real-time decision engine** that helps merchants increase shopper conversion rate and improve the checkout experience. This work is also the cornerstone of **Adyen Uplift**, an AI product suite that holistically optimizes for **conversion, fraud, and cost**. As an Engineering Manager, you will build, mentor, and coach a diverse team of **machine learning scientists** and **data engineers**. You’ll streamline engineering operations, refine product requirements with Product and merchants, and encourage effective collaboration—helping iterate our culture and build future leaders at Adyen. --- ### What you’ll do - Lead the Personalize Intelligence team with hands-on technical leadership, driving architecture strategy and raising the bar through mentoring and technical guidance. - Work cross-functionally with Design, Product, Data Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, Developers, and other stakeholders. - Motivate and coach team members (engineering best practices, scalable architecture, and product roadmap discussions). - Maintain an inclusive team culture focused on autonomy, ownership, collaboration, communication, and impact. - Collaborate with other teams to design and implement new services with reliability/infra/data/dev in mind. - Set clear individual and team goals aligned with strategic engineering ambitions in close collaboration with the product manager. - Create an inspiring, collaborative environment with open communication and feedback. - Recruit new team members aligned with Adyen’s culture and required skills. --- ### What you’ll bring - Affinity for the **Shopper and Checkout optimization** domain. - Proven experience working with and deep understanding of **machine learning products**. - Energetic self-starter who can create alignment across multiple teams. - Ability to define, implement, and monitor performance to identify improvement opportunities in existing systems. - Experience coaching and mentoring engineering talent. - Experience leading technical projects in a fast-paced, critical environment. - Experience collaborating with senior leadership to set strategic direction (including product roadmaps). - Excellent communicator and team player; can clearly communicate technical concepts to non-engineers. --- ### Minimum qualifications - **2+ years** managing machine learning engineering teams in a mission-critical environment. - **7+ years** experience in an **ML/AI** tech environment. --- ### Why Adyen?
