**Lead Engineer, Order Management** **About the Role** As a Lead Engineer on the Order Management team, you will help set the technical direction for systems powering checkout, order creation and lifecycle management, fulfillment orchestration, and critical integrations. This hands-on technical leadership role involves owning complex initiatives from discovery through delivery, translating business objectives into scalable technical solutions. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead complex, multi-sprint Order Management initiatives independently, owning outcomes and driving execution through ambiguity • Design and build reliable, stateful services across checkout, order lifecycle, fulfillment orchestration, and partner integrations • Drive technical decisions by evaluating options, constraints, and tradeoffs while balancing delivery with long-term maintainability • Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to define scope, milestones, and success criteria • Strengthen engineering excellence through testing, observability, safe rollouts, incident leadership, and mentorship **Required Qualifications** • 5+ years of software engineering experience building complex, business-critical backend or distributed systems • Fluency in modern programming languages (Go, Ruby, Java, or Python) • Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) • Track record of independently leading complex, multi-sprint initiatives from discovery through launch • Clear communication across technical and non-technical partners • Experience with automated testing, continuous delivery, observability, and incident learning • Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, etc.) • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience **Nice to Have** • E-commerce, order management, payments, inventory, logistics, or fulfillment domain experience • Experience designing third-party system integrations • Familiarity with Golang, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kafka, Temporal, or Datadog **Tech Stack** Golang, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kafka, Temporal, Datadog **Compensation** Salary Range: $111,800 – $186,000 USD Competitive benefits, equity, and annual bonus eligible
