## Software Engineer, Teacher Experience ### About CodeAI CodeAI is an education innovation nonprofit dedicated to ensuring every student in every school has the opportunity to learn about artificial intelligence and computer science as part of their core K-12 education. We're the leading provider of K-12 AI+CS education curriculum globally and organize the annual Hour of AI campaign. ### The Role As a Software Engineer on our Teacher Experience team, you'll make CodeAI's platform faster, clearer, and more reliable for educators worldwide. You'll work alongside product managers, designers, and curriculum writers to transform classroom needs into production features using agentic AI tools. ### Key Responsibilities • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop end-to-end features that are accessible and engaging in real classrooms • Write and maintain production-ready code in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Ruby on Rails, and SQL • Work with AWS services (S3, CloudWatch) for asset storage, logging, and infrastructure • Rapidly prototype and iterate on AI-focused products with attention to safety and bias mitigation • Take ownership of complex projects and drive technical decisions • Support production issues, deploy updates, and respond to user inquiries • Foster collaborative team culture through knowledge sharing and mentorship ### Required Qualifications • 8+ years developing and maintaining consumer-grade full-stack web applications • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Ruby on Rails, and SQL • Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools to build software • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and high-scale production applications • Technical leadership experience (architectural changes, mentoring, or setting direction) • Ability to drive projects independently with strong communication skills • Collaborative mindset and commitment to inclusive engineering culture • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident • Ability to work within continental United States • Pass pre-employment background check • Willing to travel minimum 2x per year for team events ### Preferred Qualifications • Experience with AI-powered products or educational technology • Background building tools that help students learn with LLMs ### Compensation & Benefits **Salary:** $126,900 - $162,000 (based on qualifications and experience) **Full-Time Benefits Include:** • Technology subsidy (Bring Your Own Device) • Flexible, remote working environment • 5 weeks PTO (3 weeks vacation + 2-week winter break + sick leave) • 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage for employee and dependents • 403b retirement plan option • Opportunity to impact K-12 CS education globally ### Interview Process 1.
