**Senior Manager, Data Platform Engineering** **Opportunity Overview** Lead a critical part of Cohere Health's Data Platform team as we scale our technology, engineering practices, and client delivery capabilities. This role combines people leadership, technical judgment, and execution ownership to build high-performing teams and drive predictable delivery, technical excellence, and operational reliability. **What You'll Do** • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Data Platform engineering team • Own execution across complex data initiatives with clear delivery plans and accountability • Establish strong delivery discipline with proactive blocker resolution and risk management • Maintain technical depth to assess delivery and implementation risk independently • Build trusted cross-functional partnerships across Product, Client Delivery, Engineering, and stakeholders • Drive operational excellence in production support, incident management, and reliability • Guide evolution of Cohere's data platform including ingestion, transformation, and cloud architecture **What You'll Need** • 8+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, or related technical field • 3+ years directly managing software or data engineers in production environments • Proven success building and managing high-performing engineering teams • Strong track record leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with delivery discipline • Technical depth in modern data platforms (ingestion, ETL/ELT, distributed processing, cloud architectures) • Experience with AWS, S3, Iceberg, Glue, Airflow, Spark/PySpark, Athena, or comparable technologies • Strong understanding of testing, data quality, observability, incident management, and CI/CD • Excellent written and verbal communication skills **Nice-to-Haves** • Enterprise-scale data lakehouse or data infrastructure experience • Healthcare data experience (claims, eligibility, clinical, provider datasets) • Data governance, metadata management, and regulated data environments • Track record helping teams mature delivery practices during growth **Compensation & Benefits** 💻 Fully remote (5% travel) 🩺 Medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, EAP 📈 401K with company match; FSA and HSA 🏝️ Flexible Time Off + Company Holidays 👶 Up to 14 weeks paid parental leave 🐶 Pet insurance **Salary:** $175,000 - $195,000 annually (plus benefits and bonus) **Interview Process** 1.
