**Lead Software Engineer, Finance** **About the Role** The finance software team is the central nervous system of SpaceX's financial operations. We build and maintain mission-critical applications that power the finance department and ensure financial systems stay accurate, reliable, and secure as the company scales. **Responsibilities** • Directly manage a team of software engineers • Own all aspects of a system roadmap including prioritization, implementation, and delivery • Provide strong technical leadership with a focus on continuous improvement • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining focus on common project goals • Develop highly reliable and available software systems • Collaborate across departments to ensure company success **Basic Qualifications** • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Science + 3+ years software development experience (OR 6+ years professional experience without degree) • 1+ years object-oriented programming experience • 1+ years leading software teams or projects **Preferred Skills** • Python, C#, .NET, Go, Java, or similar object-oriented languages • Front-end: Angular, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks • PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar databases • 4+ years building single page web applications • ERP, accounting, or financial planning systems experience • Financial data integrity, auditability, and access controls (SOX-aware systems) • Domain expertise in financial systems, ERP platforms, or financial integrations • Strong mentoring and employee development skills • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities **Additional Requirements** • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed • Must be willing to travel when needed • ITAR eligible: U.S. citizen, national, green card holder, refugee, or asylee status **Compensation** $165,000 - $265,000 base salary, plus stock options, bonuses, comprehensive benefits, 401(k), and 3+ weeks paid vacation.
