**Senior Software Engineer, Foundations** **About Peregrine** Backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, Peregrine helps public safety organizations, state and local governments, federal agencies, and private-sector institutions address society's challenges with unprecedented speed and accuracy. Our AI-enabled platform turns siloed and disconnected data into operational intelligence. **The Team** The Foundations team consists of detail-oriented engineers driving innovation and enhancing performance through technical excellence. We own the performance and reliability of key pieces of Peregrine's infrastructure and take on hard technical problems that create new capabilities for the platform. **The Role** You'll independently own well-scoped, meaningful projects that improve the reliability and performance of Peregrine's data platform. Work within datastores, orchestrated data pipelines, and connection, authorization, and notification layers. **Recent Work Examples:** • Rewriting core datastore storage formats • Upgrading major framework versions safely • Improving database connection-pooling • Building authorization system components • Reducing data-processing latency from hours to under a second • Scaling search infrastructure • Incident response and root-cause analysis **Tech Stack** Python, Django, Celery, Airflow, Kafka, React, Redux, Mapbox, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, AWS, Pulumi, Terraform, Kubernetes **About You** • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience • Experience with distributed systems or data-intensive services • Track record of shipping production-grade software • Comfortable with large, established codebases • Strong collaborative and problem-solving skills • Located in San Francisco or New York area, open to in-office work **Compensation** $200,000 - $250,000 Annually + Benefits + Equity + Bonus **Equal Opportunity** Peregrine Technologies is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive environment.
