As the team behind Next.js, v0, and AI SDK, we create products trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide. **About the Role** Lead the design and development of Vercel's Finance Data Platform—the foundational system powering revenue reporting, consumption-based billing, financial forecasting, and compliance. You'll architect financial data infrastructure that Finance, Accounting, and Revenue Operations depend on to close books accurately and scale with the business. Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Engineering, you'll define the technical vision, partner with Finance and Accounting leadership, and build reliable, auditable pipelines using Kafka, ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake. **Key Responsibilities** • Design data platforms supporting revenue recognition, consumption-based billing, and financial reporting across batch and real-time workloads • Translate FP&A, Accounting, and RevOps requirements into technical architecture aligned with reporting deadlines and audit cycles • Define guidelines for financial data ingestion, transformation, and storage with focus on auditability and data integrity • Develop end-to-end solutions and mentor engineers on technical excellence in high-accountability domains • Ensure compliance with SOX, SOC 2, and regulatory requirements through monitoring and incident response • Drive architectural decisions balancing efficiency, scalability, and correctness requirements • Build infrastructure translating raw usage into revenue, supporting forecasting and modeling • Evaluate and select critical data architectures and technologies for financial operations **About You** • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred • 8+ years data engineering/architecture experience; 2+ years at Staff/Principal/Lead level • Proven track record with large-scale data infrastructures (Kafka, ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake) • Experience building financial reporting, revenue recognition, or consumption-based pricing pipelines • Proficiency in AWS, GCP, or Azure • Strong background in data governance, security, compliance, and audit support • Outstanding communication and stakeholder influence skills • Leadership mindset with team mentoring ability **Compensation** San Francisco base: $260,000 - $360,000 (adjusted by location) Vercel is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive community.
