## Senior Safety Software Engineer **About the Role** Agility Robotics is seeking a Senior Safety Software Engineer to implement functionally safe perception systems for commercially deployed humanoids. You'll bridge cutting-edge technology with functional safety principles, working across teams to design, develop, and validate safety-critical software architecture. **Key Responsibilities** • **Design & Develop** – Build robust, highly reliable software for safety-critical systems using functional safety and deep learning safety techniques • **Cross-Functional Collaboration** – Partner with ML, hardware, and core software teams to ensure data pipelines, models, and middleware operate within safety envelopes • **System Architecture** – Develop software for both Linux and real-time operating systems • **Testing & Validation** – Create rigorous testing frameworks and validation strategies for edge-case scenarios • **Mentorship** – Guide junior engineers on safety-critical coding standards and best practices **Minimum Qualifications** • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field • 5+ years professional software engineering experience in systems-level or embedded systems (C++, C, or Rust) • Strong understanding of embedded software architecture • Excellent problem-solving skills and drive for quality and reliability **Greatly Desired** • Board bringup and alpha hardware experience • Perception systems (camera, LiDAR sensors) • Formally certified safety-critical code • Functional safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO 13849) • ROS 2 architecture and development • Machine learning pipelines and model training • Linux kernel configuration and customization • RTOS experience (QNX or similar) **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 **Salary:** $175,000 – $274,000 USD ✅ **Benefits Include:** • 401(k) with 6% company match • Company stock options • 100% company-paid medical, dental, vision, disability insurance • Flexible unlimited PTO (exempt) or 10 vacation days (non-exempt) + 12 company holidays • Generous paid parental leave • Professional development and tuition reimbursement • Relocation assistance available **Work Arrangement** Fully remote with hybrid option if within commutable distance of Salem OR, Pittsburgh PA, or Fremont CA offices. *U.S.-based role.
