**Senior Network Software Engineer I - Secret Clearance** **About Rocket Lab** Rocket Lab is the end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems that keep the world connected, protected, and expand humanity's reach to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. **The Role** We're seeking a Senior Network Software Engineer I to join our Space Systems team in Long Beach, CA. You'll manage software development and integration of routers, radios, and laser communication devices on a constellation of spacecraft, working on Space-to-Space Communications, Space-to-Ground Communications, Payload Software, and Data Security initiatives. **What You'll Do** • Manage software development and integration of communication devices on spacecraft constellations • Manage suppliers and subcontractors for integrated system development and testing • Interface with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams on product development plans and milestones • Design simulation and test approaches for constellation networking • Define KPIs for contractors and development teams • Develop and maintain staffing plans with senior leadership • Plan major integration points and testing between teams • Establish software development standards ensuring highest quality deliverables **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar technical discipline • 5+ years of relevant industry experience • Comprehensive knowledge of network software • Knowledge of software development lifecycle • Experience with Jira for software development management • Systems engineering experience (trades, requirements management, performance characterization, interface management) • Active Secret security clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI • U.S. citizenship required **Nice to Have** • Master's degree in Aerospace, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field • Active TS/SCI clearance • SDA NEBULA architecture experience • Cybersecurity controls, encryption, or DevSecOps experience • Docker, Kubernetes, or project management tools (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet) • Team leadership experience with agile methodologies • PMP, APMP, or similar project management certifications **Compensation & Benefits** **Base Pay Range (CA):** $130,000 – $198,000 USD Comprehensive benefits include company stock, Employee Stock Purchase Program (15% discount), top-tier medical/dental/vision coverage, paid time off, 401(k) match, parental leave, subsidized EV charging, onsite fitness centers, and employee discounts. **Location:** Long Beach, CA | **Reports to:** Head of Flight Software
