Director, Data & BI
Theoria Medical · United States
About this role
**Director, Data & BI** **About Theoria Medical** Theoria Medical is a comprehensive medical group and technology company serving patients across the care continuum, with a strong focus on post-acute care. We partner with facilities nationwide to improve care quality, refine processes, and strengthen relationships through multispecialty physician care, telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, and more. **The Role** This is a builder role—not a report-factory role—and it's two jobs at once. You are the product owner for our BI platform, deciding what gets built, for whom, and in what order. You also own our company BI and data strategy. You'll work with business stakeholders across clinical, operations, finance, and HR, while being hands-on: writing dbt models, debugging pipelines, and shipping dashboards yourself. **What You'll Own** • **Data Strategy & Product Ownership** – Maintain a prioritized roadmap and drive adoption • **Intake & Prioritization** – Run a visible queue with stated criteria and published trade-offs • **Program Delivery** – Scope multi-team work, manage dependencies, and hit committed dates • **Platform Architecture** – Own the warehouse/lakehouse and BI layer end-to-end • **Governance & Trust** – Manage definitions, stewardship, access, lineage, and data quality • **Hands-On Analytics** – Build facility dashboards, provider productivity, quality metrics, and executive reporting • **AI in the Stack** – Evaluate, pilot, and deploy conversational analytics and natural-language query • **Team** – Hire, onboard, and develop analysts and analytics engineers **Required Experience** • 6+ years in analytics, analytics engineering, or BI (owning a data platform end-to-end) • 3+ years running analytics as a product (roadmap ownership, stakeholder arbitration, adoption focus) • 3+ years healthcare analytics with fluency in post-acute/senior care operations • Hands-on work with clinical/EHR data, value-based care, and quality analytics • Practical HIPAA experience with PHI handling **Technical Skills** • Deep SQL + modern stack: cloud data platform (Snowflake, Databricks), dbt, managed ingestion, orchestrator, semantic BI layer • Daily fluency with frontier LLMs and AI-assisted development tools • Strong communication across clinical, operations, finance, and executive audiences • Commitment to data quality, governance, and ethical PHI handling **Preferred** • First/early data hire or building from low maturity • Formal product/project management experience • Databricks/Snowflake and Omni experience • Shipped conversational analytics to non-technical users • People management or technical mentorship **Work Requirements** • Hybrid work model • Occasional travel as needed • Extended computer work; fine motor skills and visual acuity required
