**Senior Manager, Soccer Analytics & Data Science** **Overview** Major League Soccer's Business Insights & Analytics team seeks a Senior Manager to lead sporting analytics workstreams and serve as a senior analytics partner to Competition, Player Relations, Medical, and other departments. You'll independently lead major analytical projects, shape priorities, and use soccer data to inform strategic decisions. **Key Responsibilities** • Partner with sporting stakeholders to shape analytical priorities and lead data-driven recommendations • Independently lead complex analytics and data science projects from problem definition through presentation • Leverage event, tracking, roster, and financial data to evaluate performance using advanced analytics • Lead evaluation of League roster rules and competition/rule changes • Own development of Pro Player Pathway data and reporting • Lead the Video, Analytics and Sports Science Subcommittee • Partner with Medical to analyze player availability and sports science trends • Apply AI and machine learning to sporting analytics • Communicate complex findings through clear narratives and actionable recommendations **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field • 7+ years in quantitative analytics, data science, strategy, or related role • Strong understanding of soccer tactics, match analysis, roster construction, and player development • Experience with event and tracking data (soccer preferred) **Required Skills** • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python • Strong expertise in statistical analysis and data science techniques • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive projects independently • Advanced Excel and BI tool proficiency (Power BI/Tableau) • Strong executive communication and presentation skills • Superior project management and stakeholder-management abilities • High attention to detail with ability to multitask **Desired Skills** • Professional soccer or sports analytics experience • Competition analysis, player evaluation, or roster modeling experience • Experience evaluating policy/rule change impacts • Experience with AI applications in sports (ML, computer vision, generative AI) **Total Rewards** Competitive base salary: $100,000 - $125,000 | Comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage | $500 wellness reimbursement | Generous PTO | Remote flexibility (Fridays + 2 flex days/month) | Professional development opportunities **Equal Opportunity Employer**
