**Machine Learning Engineer II, Responsible AI** **About the Role:** Join Pinterest's Advanced Technologies Group (ATG) as a Machine Learning Engineer II focused on Responsible AI. You'll execute projects on the responsible AI frontier, identifying, avoiding, and mitigating bias across ML applications including generative AI. Collaborate with engineering teams across trust and safety, user modeling, and content understanding to drive responsible AI practices at scale. **What You'll Do:** • Execute on responsible AI projects to identify, avoid, and mitigate bias across ML applications • Collaborate with engineering teams to adopt and evaluate Responsible AI practices • Mentor junior engineers on the Responsible AI team and across the company • Work with senior leaders to define and drive technical strategy **What We're Looking For:** • Extensive real-world experience applying advanced ML methods to production systems with a strong track record in responsible technology • Deep familiarity with cutting-edge ML architectures (transformers, 2-tower architectures, LLMs) and their applications in Search and Recommender Systems • Proven ability to measure, deploy, and refine fairness interventions at scale • 2+ years working experience in engineering teams building large-scale ML-driven user-facing products • Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related field **Nice to Have:** • Publications at top ML conferences • Experience with AI coding assistants (Cursor, Copilot, Codex) • Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools • Expertise in scalable realtime systems processing stream data • Passion for applied research and the Pinterest product **Compensation & Details:** 💰 $138,905 – $285,982 USD (US-based applicants only) 📍 Hybrid role | Not eligible for relocation assistance **Equal Opportunity Employer:** Pinterest is committed to creating an equitable, inclusive, and inspiring workplace for all employees.
