**Engineering Manager, Notifications Platform** **About the Role** Lead the Notifications Platform (Foundation) Team at Reddit, which builds the durable infrastructure and services powering push, email, and in-app notifications. You'll shape the systems that enable product teams to reach Redditors with timely, trusted communications at scale. **What You'll Do** • Lead the team architecting, building, and operating the Notifications Platform • Set technical direction for platform capabilities: APIs, eventing, workflow orchestration, delivery pipelines, preferences, templates, experimentation, and observability • Collaborate with Notifications ML teams to build and productionize ML-powered systems • Partner with product and engineering teams to define platform contracts and improve developer experience • Drive the full development lifecycle: design, develop, test, deploy, operate, and improve highly available services • Establish strong practices for reliability, scalability, performance, privacy, security, and operational excellence • Build and maintain a diverse team that collaborates across disciplines • Serve as thought partner to product and upper management • Help engineers identify career goals and create development plans **You Have** • 2+ years of experience building and managing engineering teams • 5+ years as a Software Engineer or Engineering Manager building large-scale distributed systems or platform services • Deep understanding of distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, event-driven systems, and APIs in production • Hands-on experience with highly available, low-latency services and operational excellence • Experience with cloud infrastructure, data storage, streaming/messaging systems, and observability tooling • Experience setting technical direction for platform teams • Entrepreneurial, self-directed, innovative, and results-oriented • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences • Ability to tackle ambiguous and undefined problems **Benefits** Comprehensive healthcare, 401(k) with employer match, flexible vacation, paid parental leave, mental health support, family planning support, and professional development opportunities. **Compensation** Base salary range: $217,000–$303,000 USD (plus equity and potential commission)
