**Consulting Architect - Search** **About the Role** Serve as a hands-on technical authority and trusted implementation leader helping enterprise customers unlock the full potential of Elasticsearch. Design, optimize, and scale complex Elasticsearch cluster topologies while bridging business requirements and distributed systems engineering. **Key Responsibilities** • **Elasticsearch Core Architecture** – Translate business requirements into resilient, scalable search architectures on distributed Elasticsearch environments • **Cluster Design & Governance** – Lead technical execution including capacity planning, custom mappings, shard strategy, ILM, and cross-cluster replication • **Advanced Vector Search & AI** – Deploy semantic search implementations using kNN, ELSER, hybrid retrieval, and RAG pipelines • **Performance Tuning** – Profile, benchmark, and optimize search/indexing performance to meet demanding SLAs • **High-Throughput Ingestion** – Build robust ingestion pipelines handling high-volume workloads • **Customer Engagement** – Lead technical kickoffs, architectural reviews, and hands-on migrations • **Field Insights** – Identify edge cases and architectural hurdles, sharing feedback with Product Management • **Internal Mentorship** – Document patterns and mentor team members **What You Bring** • 5+ years as Solutions Architect, Lead Engineer, or Senior Systems Consultant with deep Elasticsearch production expertise • Solid understanding of distributed systems, node roles, Apache Lucene mechanics, and cluster state management • Proven track record implementing semantic search with ML nodes and vector fields • Practical cloud deployment experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) with Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform • Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, Python, Go) with Elasticsearch client libraries • Strong technical communication and presentation skills • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience • Comfortable working across distributed teams and traveling to customer sites **Compensation** Base salary range: $133,100–$210,600 USD (select locations: $159,900–$252,900 USD) Stock program eligibility, 401(k) matching up to 6%, and comprehensive benefits package.
