About this role
**Staff+ Research Engineer, RL Data Platform** **About the Role** Anthropicís RL Data Platform team builds systems that produce, move, and serve human feedback data for Claude training. This full-stack, ownership-heavy role on a senior team involves designing web interfaces for thousands of expert annotators, building backend services and data pipelines, and partnering directly with RL researchers. You'll scope projects, make architectural decisions, and ship to production. **Key Responsibilities** • Design and operate feedback/data collection interfaces for annotators, domain experts, and researchers • Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and pipelines routing model samples to humans • Own reliability, latency, and usability of systems running against live model endpoints • Partner with RL researchers to translate data needs into collection campaigns • Build dashboards and monitoring tools for data quality visibility • Identify and remove bottlenecks in the data pipeline **Required Qualifications** • Strong full-stack skills: TypeScript/React frontend, Python backend • Experience designing and operating backend services and data pipelines • Track record of end-to-end project ownership from brief to production • Ability to work with technical stakeholders with changing needs • Effective use of AI tools in daily work • Care about societal impacts of your work **Preferred Experience** • Annotation, labeling, or human-in-the-loop data tooling • RLHF or human-feedback pipelines for ML systems • Researcher-facing internal tools development • Data collection interface experimentation • Crowdworker or expert vendor platforms at scale • LLM training and evaluation knowledge **Compensation & Details** 💰 $500,000–$850,000 USD annually 📍 Hybrid (25%+ office time) 🎓 Bachelor's degree or equivalent required ✅ Visa sponsorship available **Learn More** Visit anthropic.com/careers for confirmed openings.
