**Staff Software Engineer, Space Special Programs** **About Anduril Industries** Defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology, AI, autonomy, and computer vision. **About the Team** The Space Special Programs team builds spacecraft and space systems for diverse mission functions. We develop, test, deploy, and operate advanced space capabilities across product, engineering, sales, logistics, operations, and mission success. **About the Role** Lead software engineer responsible for the full lifecycle of flight software, ground test software, and ground station software. You'll architect software systems spanning embedded, host, communication, data storage, computer vision, FPGA-interfacing, and algorithm implementation. Serve as both individual contributor and team lead. **Key Responsibilities** • Design market-leading hardware-based products with cross-functional teams • Drive product maturity through rapid prototyping and qualification • Apply modern space-flight software design standards for high-reliability systems • Architect flight, ground, and payload systems to meet mission requirements • Lead team in establishing guidelines and best practices • Conduct design reviews and develop customer-facing documentation • Support development, integration, and test activities • Manage multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environment **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field • 10+ years software engineering experience (embedded, host, and product-specific) • 3+ years leading software engineering teams on small spacecraft • Experience developing subsystem requirements, interfaces, and reusable software architectures **Location:** Chantilly, VA
