**Software Engineer - Platform, Mission Systems** **About the Role:** Planet's Mission Control is a web-based application that empowers spacecraft operators and analysts to monitor, control, and study our growing fleet of satellites. You'll be part of a team building, maintaining, and operating distributed microservices that handle spacecraft scheduling, tasking, telemetry processing, and operational needs. This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States or Canada (3 days/week office if near a location). **Impact You'll Own:** • Maintain and augment automation and services responsible for satellite operations • Manage cloud-based infrastructure services and associated tooling • Evaluate and choose appropriate software technologies • Design and deploy critical infrastructure • Collaborate with teams across Satellite Operations, Ground Operations, Pipeline, and Product **What You Bring:** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or similar • 4+ years of relevant work experience • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) • Infrastructure maintenance experience (Ansible, Kubernetes, Terraform) • Python programming experience • Relational database knowledge (Postgres, MySQL, etc.) • Automated testing, code review, and documentation practices • CI/CD workflows (GitLab CI, Docker, etc.) • Proficient Linux skills • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities **What Makes You Stand Out:** • API design experience • Monitoring tools experience (Datadog, Sentry, etc.) • Microservice environment experience • Aerospace concepts knowledge **Compensation & Benefits:** US National: $127,000–$158,700 | San Francisco: $144,500–$180,600 | NYC + California: $153,000–$191,400 Medical/Dental/Vision, HSA, PTO, 16 weeks parental leave, home office reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, equity, and more. **Application Deadline:** September 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT **Note:** EAR/ITAR export control requirements apply.
