**Director, Application & AI Security** **About Lantern** Lantern is the specialty care platform connecting people with high-quality, affordable specialty care close to home. Operating in a regulated healthcare environment (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2), we handle protected health information at scale and are becoming an AI healthcare company with AI adoption as a top priority. **The Role** Own application and AI security end-to-end: the security of the software and AI systems Lantern builds. Make it safe to move fast by building golden paths and secure defaults that let teams ship product and adopt AI without permission queues, while keeping PHI and external-model data egress genuinely protected. You'll lead a growing function starting with a senior application security engineer and several open roles across security architecture, AI/ML security, DevSecOps, and product security. **Key Responsibilities** • Application security across the development lifecycle (SAST/DAST/SCA/IAST, code/dependency security, API security, runtime protections) • AI and ML security (model/agent security, prompt-injection risk, tool-use risk, data-egress controls) • Security architecture and threat modeling • DevSecOps and pipeline security • Security-review intake as a single front door with risk-based triage • Application and AI security tool stack and secure-design standards **First-Year Deliverables** • AI golden path with approved-model catalog and automated data-egress controls • Secure SDLC paved road with scanning in pipeline by default • Single security-review intake with fast, risk-based answers • Built-out team with open roles filled **Requirements** • Minimum 8 years application or product security • Minimum 3 years leading a team with function-level accountability • Demonstrated AI/ML security ownership at production scale (OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001) • Secure SDLC leadership across SAST/DAST/SCA/IAST, dependency risk, SBOM practice • Security architecture and threat-modeling depth • DevSecOps and pipeline security experience • API security experience on regulated-data platforms • Track record delivering security as paved roads and secure defaults • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent professional experience **Location** Hybrid – at least 3 days/week in Dallas, TX office **Benefits** Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance • Short & Long Term Disability • Life Insurance • 401k with company match • Flexible Time Off • Paid Parental Leave
