**Staff Data Engineer** **Role Overview** The Search and Discovery team is responsible for creating a world-class search and discovery shopping experience. The Data Science and Analytics team analyzes customer data to determine how Search models should be designed, assess customer interactions, analyze experiments, and build predictive models. **What You Will Do** • Ideate, build, and manage analytics and production data ETL/ELT systems for high-volume data ingestion • Partner with Data Science, Engineering, and Product to enable reliable, accurate logging and usage of Search data • Ensure data quality, observability, and reliability across the data lifecycle • Optimize systems for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability • Define and manage SLAs for data systems • Ensure security and compliance of data per industry standards **Basic Qualifications** • 6 years of relevant industry experience as a data engineer in a technology company • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent • Proficiency in Data modeling, ETL, Python, and SQL **Preferred Qualifications** • 8+ years experience in data/engineering overall • Experience with distributed processing technologies (e.g., HDFS, S3) • Experience with ETL schedulers (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, DBT) • Experience with massive datasets and data extraction optimization • Expertise in experimentation and statistics • Understanding of ML concepts and model configurations • Experience in e-commerce and/or search **Compensation** • Base Pay: $164,000 - $282,000/year (based on geographic market) • Annual Bonus: 0-20% of base salary • Medical/Dental/Vision/Life insurance, FSA, HSA • 401(k) with company match • 18-21 days PTO + 12 paid holidays • Paid parental leave • Additional benefits available **Job ID:** R0076110
