**Sr. Software Engineer, Data Platform (Starlink)** **About the Role** Join SpaceX's Starlink program to build the world's most advanced broadband internet system. You'll develop highly reliable and scalable enterprise data platforms that process petabyte-scale data, create end-to-end data pipelines, and solve challenges that improve satellite internet delivery to 9M+ users worldwide. **Key Responsibilities** • Develop reliable, scalable enterprise data platforms for petabyte-scale ingestion, processing, storage, and querying • Create end-to-end data pipelines that improve SpaceX operations • Collaborate on architecture, design, and code reviews • Build prototypes to validate design concepts • Own all aspects of software engineering and product development • Apply first principles thinking to solve business problems **Basic Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field; OR 7+ years professional software development experience • 5+ years experience in full stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data science **Preferred Skills** • Programming: Scala, Java, C#, Python, Go, or similar • Frontend: Angular, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks • Big data: Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, or similar • Databases: Hive, Delta Lake, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, or similar • Data tools: Grafana, Metabase, PowerBI, or similar • Version control, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and monitoring • Statistics, machine learning algorithms and frameworks **Compensation** Level 3: $160,000 - $270,000/year + stock options, bonuses, comprehensive benefits, 401(k), 3 weeks PTO, 10+ paid holidays **Requirements** • Willing to work extended hours and weekends when needed • ITAR eligible: U.S. citizen, national, green card holder, refugee, or asylee status
