## RedHat Linux/Unix Systems Administrator (Peraton) ### Responsibilities - Install, configure, and maintain servers running RedHat Linux, following established internal processes - Recommend and plan hardware/software upgrades based on growth statistics - Schedule, plan, and perform system upgrades, including coordinating transitions from test to production - Monitor log files and system performance to identify and resolve software, OS, and networking issues in mission-critical environments - Schedule, perform, and monitor system backups; perform data recoveries when necessary - Configure hardware (workstations, printers, servers, tape devices) - Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely UNIX/Linux support and general technical support for system users - Follow standard operating procedures to maintain/enhance security posture, including adherence to the DISA STIG process - Automate scheduled tasks using software support tools and scripts - Collaborate with a team and prioritize work to meet deadlines ### Qualifications - Proven RedHat Linux system administration experience - Strong understanding of system security, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting - Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment and participate in an on-call rotation - Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance - Education/Experience: 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree; 4 years with associates ### Preferred Qualifications - Certifications in RedHat Linux or Unix OS administration - Experience in enterprise-level IT environments - Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages ### Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company and enterprise IT provider delivering trusted solutions for government agencies and the U.S. armed forces.
