**Staff Embedded Software Engineer, CCU - (SJ2026PS)** **About Archer** Aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. Designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. **What You'll Do** • Independently lead architectural design, embedded development, and verification of safety-critical software components for the aircraft Charge Control Unit (CCU) • Direct implementation of charge control systems as primary technical authority for interfacing complex embedded software with high-voltage (800V+) electrical components • Serve as Certification Authority leading decomposition of item requirements in compliance with DO178C (DAL-A/B) • Act as subject matter expert during FAA certification audits • Architect and oversee advanced fault detection and diagnostic algorithms to mitigate hardware-level events • Perform system analysis of hardware schematics, signal integrity, and power distribution networks • Author software development and verification processes compliant with aerospace safety standards (DO-178C and DO-326A) • Lead and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, conducting code/design reviews **Requirements** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics • 60+ months experience as Embedded Software Engineer or Firmware Engineer with: - Design and development of safety-critical embedded software using C/C++ - Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) - Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and debugging - Communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C) **Compensation & Details** $255,653 - $268,435.65 per year **Application** Apply at https://www.archer.com/careers Include job code **SJ2026PS** on resume/CV and cover letter *No work visa sponsorship available.
